The sensation of burning feet is related to nerve issues and circulatory problems. Neuropathy from diabetes is one of the primary culprits. Diabetic neuropathy can be mitigated with proper blood sugar control which helps prevent additional nerve damage. This can be accomplished with diet and exercise. Learn proper monitoring and management of the disease with the help of your foot doctor.

4 treatments to help treat the sensation of burning feet and to help prevent further nerve damage include the following:

1)   Avoid excess alcoholic beverages—Excessive alcohol in the blood contributes to nerve damage in the extremities so decreasing or completely avoiding alcohol can help relieve the sensation of burning feet.

2)   Treat thyroid conditions—Check to see if you have a thyroid condition that is causing a resultant burning sensation in your feet.

3)   Vitamin B therapy—Either through injections or orally, vitamin B can help restore nerve function and decrease the burning sensation.

4)   Treat kidney problems—If you have kidney disease it can cause a burning sensation. Having regular dialysis treatments to remove toxins in the blood will help relieve the sensation of burning feet.

Burning sensation in the feet can also be caused by foot neuromas and tight-fitting shoes.
